The company’s two principals, Mary Pagnutti and Dr. Robert E. Ryan, each have over 30 years of engineering, imaging and illumination technology experience, which includes designing sensors, developing advanced geospatial imaging techniques, performing data product calibration/validation and geospatial image quality assessments.
Ms. Mary Pagnutti is co-founder and President of Innovative Imaging & Research Corp. (I2R). She has an established background in mechanical engineering, propulsion systems, fluid dynamics, and remote sensing. Ms. Pagnutti received a B.E. and M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University. Prior to founding I2R, she led and managed contractor remote sensing application and calibration/validation activities at the NASA Stennis Space Center. Before her work at NASA, Ms. Pagnutti spent almost 18 years at Northrop Grumman, where she designed and analyzed complex three-dimensional inlet and nozzle flow fields and chemically reacting rocket and aircraft plume flow fields, and IR/UV signatures.
Dr. Robert E. Ryan is co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of Innovative Imaging & Research Corp. (I2R). He has broad expertise in systems engineering, remote sensing, optics, spectroscopy, signal processing, solid state lighting and physics. Dr. Ryan earned a Ph.D. in physics from Stony Brook University and holds 11 US patents in the fields of optics and sensors. Before founding I2R, Dr. Ryan spent 10 years at the NASA John C. Stennis Space Center, where he supported NASA in high spatial resolution imaging system verification and validation. He came to Stennis with over 15 years of experience in aerospace R&D from the Northrop Grumman Corporate Research Center, where he worked on UV-LWIR missile warning systems and hyperspectral and ultraspectral imaging systems.
